Bison -- Wyoming
Continental Divide Marker, Wyoming
The Rockies were a mighty mountain range for the pioneers to cross. Water on the east side of Continental Divides eventually flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Water on the west side eventually flows into the Pacific Ocean. Fortunately, South Pass was discovered, a relatively flat, wide plain stretching for miles. The pioneers had now traveled about halfway from Missouri to Oregon. © 2001-2008 Richard Rasmussen (aka Rodeo Rich) |
